RADOVAN Estate – Wine from Croatia, the region of Istria

Radovan Winery started in 1994 with 1.5 hectares of vineyards. There were old vines of Malvazija grown in family vineyards surrounding the village of Radovani. This family of winegrowers started by renewing and planting new vines of Malvazija, then some other varieties have been introduced. (such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot etc). Old used wooden barrels have been replaced by new stainless steel barrels. Before their first Malvazija vintage of 1998 was bottled, they sold only bulk wine. That year, the Malvazija production won the gold medal at the Vinistra exposition.

This is how Franko Radovan, from the village of Radovani, sums up his gradual but very successful career in viticulture around Višnjan. Many wine-lovers come to the family cellar door and tasting room to enjoy Radovan’s signature “original Bacchus drink”.
